TAKE ACTION ON LIBERIA

Friends,

In just two days, more than 400 people are reported to
have been killed in the ongoing Liberian war. Over
1,000 have been wounded and tens of thousands are
displaced. Thousands of Liberians are living without
food, running water, medication or electricity. To
make matters worse, rebel forces are launching
artillery against heavily populated civilian areas.

If the war is allowed to persist, thousands could be
killed. There is no need to allow such bloodshed,
because the war could be ended quickly if foreign
troops intervene. Please take a minute to sign a
petition calling on Western nations to intervene and
end to suffering.

Go to http://www.peaceforkids.org and sign the petition
or donate to emergency efforts in Liberia. Your
donations and signature really, really can make a
difference.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO YOUR MAILING LIST. Lives
are depending on you to act.

Let's pray for peace together.

Youth Action International launched

Established on Feb. 15th 2002 by Kimmie Weeks and Sarah Godwin, Youth Action International is guided by a mission to propose and implement programs aimed at making the world a better place for children and future generations. The humanitarian projects carried out by the organization are implemented by passionate, determined young people around the world who want to help their communities and the world as a whole.

Youth Action International is in the process of initiating humanitarian programs in several different countries. When set up, the new projects will promote the rights of children, basic human rights, environmental protection and peace building. More directly, Youth Action International aims to provide nutrition, education and health care to children in need.

With its global head quarters based in Amherst, MA the organization is in the process of setting up chapters in schools, colleges and universities across the United States. International branches are also being set up in parts of Africa, Europe and Asia.

The first in a series of Youth Action International presentations to schools in the United States will take place at Amherst College on March 28th 2002. The Amherst College information session will be attended by students from Hampshire College, Holyoke College, Smith College and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
